We will be selling our eggs, honey and organic vegetables at the West Windsor Community Farmer's Market again this year. The market begins at 9 am every Saturday and is located at the West Windsor Train Station in West Windsor, New Jersey. Opening Day is May 19th. Come by and say hello!
About Us: My husband and I began farming in September of 2003, and currently maintain a herd of Toggenburg Dairy Goats, a large flock of chickens, and beehives in addition to our large organic gardens
We are dedicated to local, organic agriculture here in the Central NJ area, and are excited to be selling at local farmer's markets as well as planning our future CSA program. We look forward to providing our customers with an abundance of vegetables and fruits as well as honey from our hives, eggs from our flock, pumpkins and gourds in the fall, and Christmas trees and seasonal greens for the holiday season.
This year, our planned harvests include :
Spring: Snow peas, arugala, mizuna, french breakfast and cherry belle radishes, carrots, miniature cabbages, "Cheddar" cauliflower, new potatoes, our own mesclun mix of lettuces and edible flowers, broccoli rabe, and cooking greens, including lacinato kale and swiss chard.
Summer: A wide variety of heirloom Tomatoes, Sweet and Hot Peppers, pole beans and bush beans (in three colors this year!), beets, yellow crookneck squash, round zuchinni, cukes, basil, sunflowers and new zealand spinach
Early Fall: Potatoes (red, white, and blue!) leeks, Delicata, Acorn and Sweet Dumpling winter squash, as well as another harvest of our early spring crops.
We are currently building up our orchards and soft fruits - including raspberries, strawberries, and grapes and hope to begin sales of these products soon.
Our flock of free range, pastured hens provide us with a wide variety of colored eggs - white, brown, green, and blue! which we are happy to be sharing with the community.
Our honey is harvested from hives of Russian honeybees here on our farm, and we will be doubling our hive numbers each year if all goes well! (We also have begun harvesting beeswax and will be making candles as we build up our supply).
